February 1, 2010 The macros still work for WoW 3.3 if any out there still care! After getting 80 and playing for over a month, I have decided this video is not entirely inaccurate. So I took off the old and outdated tag. The reasons: Shamans now use Wind Shear instead of Earth Shock for interrupts. Shamans were also given a movement buff to Ghost Wolf. So, this means to use the instant ghost wolf talent when strafe kiting. This video still gives a very basic knowledge on how to play the Shaman class. This is only a 5 minute video (longer if you read everything) demonstrating all of the newbie World of Warcraft Shaman class basics. I apologize for just throwing a bunch of clips together however I was going for clarity not entertainment. You have to have X-Perl Unit Frames addon or something similar to see the 5 second rule glowing bar when you cast spells. The purpose of this video is to show new elemental shamans how to use their spells and in what order. (Actually, I made it for my brother, an ele shaman on my server, and am hoping other people out there find the video helpful) So there may be a little misinformation from enhancement’s point of view. This doesn’t truly cover all of the Shaman class but it covers everything you really need to know for basic combat. On request this is a very short demonstration of a level 80 enhancement shaman on the level 80 test dummy, self buffed showing the spell rotation / priority order to achieve high dps. Video to show the automated priority rotation I use for DPS on the Enhance Shaman. It’s not perfect, but its a lot better than what I can do manually. I use 2 buttons for this. One to turn the macro on. The other to cast Lightning Bolt. I find this helps keep me consistent. It also helps keep me alive as I can watch what is happening in the raid and not worry about staring at my cool downs. DPS output will vary depending on gear. I am doing around 5k DPS here self buffed with a 2800 Gear Score.
